Friday 1st June - We were up bright and early this morning to drive into the centre of Saint Quentin for Bradley's Vets appointment. He saw a very nice Dr Catherine Keiffer who loved him and was pleased to see us to practice her english. The new regulations mean that dogs re-entering the UK only need an oral worming treatment and not injections or other treatments now needed. Also instead of a small 24hr window in which to get on a ferry crossing there is now a 5 day window so owners can now get their pets treated at Vets away from the Calais area and the inflated prices that Vets charge. We were charged a very reasonable €37 as opposed to the the €55+ average charge in Calais. Also he has to have his chip verified and a routine examination for travel which after gobbling up his worm treatment like a good boy he passed with flying colours.
We have the Channel Tunnel crossing booked for 1413hrs so about 35 minutes later we will once again be on UK soil.
The motorhome has to get to the dealer in Highbridge as soon as we can for examinations etc but we have a big bank holiday weekend in front of us so it will be straight down to Cornwall where Lorraine's Mum & Dad have lots of boxes ready and room in their garage for all our equipment. Then its a good nights sleep before we take the motorhome to the dealer in Bridgewater. Also its a visit to North Devon to my sister Stephanie where our post is being redirected and all UK files are to get the ball rolling with DVLA and the insurers.
We have to find a car to run around in for a month or so whilst everything is sorted out and thankfully Damien & Wendy have offered us the use of their second car whilst they are away on holiday.
We are not closing the website or blog down as no decisions have been made yet other than we are continuing to let The Chapel and the summer is yet to come!..
Thank you to everyone for your lovely wishes and messages of support and hope to continue our adventure again soon!.
Andy, Lorraine & B'dog xx
